Donny is a registered clinical psychodynamic psychotherapist and cultural consultant; she carries the insights and authority of ancient Māori spiritual intelligence which informs her clinical practice. Donny uses mana-informed response-based practice in her mahi, specializing in sexualized violence recovery and inter-generational healing. She has time honoured relationships with land and the natural world which spans across generations and shares this relevance to psychotherapy, counselling and re-Indigenising healing practices for her people; she is particularly interested in the intersection between violence towards wāhine (Indigenous women) and violence towards Papatūānuku (Earth Mother).

Donny has 20 years of clinical experience in primary and secondary mental health settings and provides professional development, supervision and cultural safety training to teams in the social service, education and justice sectors. She is currently in private practice and works across Aotearoa, Te Motu Hononui (Great Turtle Island).

Donny is a therapist, assessor, supervisor and facilitator for APANZ, NZAC, ACC, EAP, the Royal Commission Inquiry of Abuse in State Care, Te Ao Rerekura and Restorative Justice. She is also an artist, a trailblazer and a fierce mama.
